Personally Identifiable Information We Collect
I-GRC may ask for specific Personally Identifiable Information about you when you sign up for a I-GRC service, and when you register for the use of the website. For example, we may ask for contact information. We may also ask you for information about your interests, preferences and future needs, so that we can improve our services. You can help I-GRC to maintain the accuracy of your information by notifying us of any change to your subscription information. You can notify us by sending an email to I-GRC via the address on our contact page or direct via email firstname.lastname@example.org or you can reach I-GRC via phone +31 6 2510 5395.
I-GRC places email links on its site to allow you to contact I-GRC directly. The information you provide is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. I-GRC may also file your comments to improve the website and services, or review and discard the information.
When registering data via a form on www.i-grc.com we may ask your permission to use your email for future communications about Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) offers, services and announcements. I-GRC will not exchange, sell or offer your data to any other 3'rd party.
Use of Your Personally Identifiable Information
I-GRC employs cookies in order for its server to recognize a return visitor as a unique user. Cookies are small text files placed in the 'Cookies' folder on a visitor's hard disk and allow I-GRC to remember the visitor. The cookies placed by the I-GRC server are readable only by I-GRC, and cookies cannot access, read or modify any other data on a computer. All web-browsers offer the option to refuse any cookie. If a visitor refuses the cookies, I-GRC does not gather any information on that visitor, but doing so will require you to re-enter certain information at each visit, or prevent us from customizing the website's features according to your preferences. You may also delete a cookie manually from your hard drive. Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information. I-GRC does link the information stored in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our website.
I-GRC may also use “Web beacon” technologies. When a visitor accesses pages on the I-GRC website with a Web beacon, an anonymous notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by I-GRC. These Web beacons work in conjunction with cookies to let I-GRC know what portions of the website are of interest to our visitors and to help providing you with tailored information from the website. If you turn off cookies, Web beacon technologies will still detect anonymous visits, but the notices they generate cannot be associated with other anonymous information or personally-identifiable information and are disregarded.
Tracking cookie usage at I-GRC
I-GRC will occasionally send you information on Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) services, special deals, and promotions. You can sign up for these emails from us on the website or various other registration places on the website. I-GRC will only communicate when it has received prior consent, i.e. “opt-in” via an explicit subscription. If I-GRC is or has been in a business relationship in which contact information was obtained I-GRC can interpret this as opt-in. However, out of respect of your privacy and adhering to the EU directive regarding email privacy (*), I-GRC will always allow business contacts to opt-out at any time.
(*) The EU directive 2002/58/EC and soon the GDPR – the EU Data Protection Regulation.
I-GRC may disclose Personally Identifiable Information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to prevent injury or property damage. I-GRC will usually attempt to notify you when making such a disclosure, but may not do so in an emergency or when prohibited by law or court order from giving such notice.
I-GRC hosts its website with Prode. Prode uses state-of-the-art proprietary and commercially available technology to protect against unauthorized access to any Personally Identifiable Information that is stored electronically by I-GRC.
